How I Got My Attention Back
+ Blog Organization

Craig mod says we have a thousand wonderful ways to start a day, not by looking at our mobile phones. I am ashamed to say that the first thing I get up every day is to look at my mobile phone. I had always wanted to solve this problem because my attention seemed to have been out of my own when I picked up my mobile phone. Sometimes I feel like a zombie, spending hours scrolling aimlessly across the screen.

I cannot remember when I started. I can’t calm down and read a book well. Sometimes I even watch videos at 2x speed. I have to admit that mobile phones are the most distracting thing. However, its charm is the greatest when I study. I once tried to put my mobile phone in another house and focus on my study. Although I still couldn’t concentrate all my attention initially, it was the fastest time for me to finish my homework without the interference of my mobile phone.

That there has been an information ‘explosion,’ an information ‘revolution.’ While in a certain narrow sense this is the case, in many important ways just the opposite is true. We also live at a moment of deep ignorance, when vital knowledge that humans have always possessed about who we are and where we live seems beyond our reach. An Unenlightenment. An age of missing information.

It seems that querying information is a very convenient thing in our age. However, I feel confused in the face of overwhelming information. They came at me like raindrops, but I didn’t respond consciously.

If my living conditions permit, I am willing to try offline, but offline  a month may be too long for me. I don’t care if I miss some popular topics, but I don’t want to lose touch with my family and friends, especially my family and friends in China.

If I put aside contact, I’d like to be offline for a long time. Because, I spent too much time staring at the computer screen this semester; My eyes, brain, and frankly my whole body needs a break from it.

Home Page

Header Image + Menus

I decided to put a large Image representing my website in the Header Image because I hope everyone can feel the rich colours when entering my website.

I made my menu according to the weekly requirements of pub101. For example, the academic menu includes weekly posts, essays and different assignments assigned by pub101.

I also created Featured Slider and Featured Links to help users quickly access the sections they want to read.

I hope my website can bring helpful information to readers and also keep me in close contact with readers. So I designed two contact sections on my home page. One is about me, and the other is the Instagram display. The content of Instagram will be updated according to the weekly blog.
